Running the amp through a Carvin Slant 4 x 12 loaded with Eminence Private Jack (Green Back Clones).

Went with the Carvin cab because it is made of Ply-Wood, not particle board or MDF as almost all cabinets are made of. I saw on ebay a brand new randy rhoads Marshall head 1959rr.I run the Evh into the Marshall and use Evh cabs............tone is unbelievable ....

This design and implementation allowed the individual components to carry themselves (such as by placing the transformer so as to ensure acoustical integrity by minimizing transconductance), in addition to commonizing the system's ground by way of a multilayer PCB, thereby avoiding a large source of unwanted nuances in most poorly grounded musical applications.

The Peavey 5150 I shipped with four Ruby Tube 6L6 Power Tubes, and five 12AX7 Tubes in the preamplifier staging (with one as a phase inverter.) Despite its shared "plain" PCB, each component was generally high quality, allowing manufacturing ease while providing high quality tone at an affordable price.

An advertising circular used by Peavey in the late ´70s compared the price of an American built T-60 (plus case) for 0 versus the Fender Stratocaster´s list price of 0 or a Gibson Les Paul for 8.50 (list).

In light of those list prices, it´s also easy to see where the Japanese guitar makers had plenty of maneuvering room during their copy era.

Commonly described analog a car engine and its respective idle, the 5150 bias was set to a lower value (lower engine "idle") which resulted in the Power Tubes running at a lower energy commonly known as "cold-biased." While the electrical theory behind this can easily be examined and theoreticized, the 5150 and its configuration resulted in a more controllable gain setting (ie.I've had Marshall's, Crate's, Carvin's and numerous off the wall brands and the Peavey 5150 is the one I been waiting for.The Peavey 5150 is an all-tube guitar amplifier made by Peavey Electronics from 1992 on, initially as a signature model for Eddie Van Halen.been playing for years....I got eddie and randy hooked together! Awesome when used with Rola Celestion G12-65 speakers 4X12 and wired series parallel at 16 ohms , they are the best complement to the 5150 also use a Peavey Adverb prog # 85 delay. Had that famous angry hornet buzz and scalded pussy-cat hiss these amps are known for but recently for neccesity, I swapped one pair of JJ 6L6's for a pair of tung-sol 6L6's.This is real brown sound folks were talkin VH1 1979 tones here and not the later wimpy 1984 tones we learned to hate. This mixed value set of tubes has made this amp sound infinitly smoother.
